I specialize in taking projects from raw footage to high-end final delivery. My portfolio includes collaborations with Carling, Pepto, and Google, focusing on seamless VFX integration and storytelling.

The process behind the pixels

This is a look under the hood of my compositing workflow. I build my projects for flexibility and precision organizing complex layer structures (compositions) in After Effects to ensure every particle, light wrap, and tracking point feels integrated into the final frame.

This frame shows the “Raw” plate (Left) vs. the “Final” composite (Right) in After Effects. My goal here was to master the interaction between practical footage and digital assets.

  • Sky Replacement: Swapping a flat desert sky for a cinematic, multi-layered atmosphere.
  • Photoshop & AE: Created a custom matte painting for the spaceship extension, using AI tools (Generative Fill in Photoshop).
  • Color Matching: Performed deep color correction on the 3D spaceship model to match the harsh, warm lighting of the desert plate.
  • Tracking: Used planar tracking to ensure the sky replacement remained rock-solid during the vehicle’s movement.

The Halloween Challenge

Featured Project: “The Halloween Composite”
Winner: 2nd Place, Mocha Imagineer Systems Contest.
The goal was to push the limits of planar tracking and particle simulation.

  • Compositing: 100% After Effects.
  • VFX Pipeline: I relied on Mocha for the heavy lifting—tracking elements like fire and blood onto moving bodies and environments.
  • Particles: Layered Trapcode Particular for realistic smoke and embers.
  • Final Grade: A multi-step process using Curves and Trapcode Looks to create a cohesive, cinematic atmosphere.
